The production of traditional meat products is a significant contributor to greenhouse gas emissions, deforestation, and water pollution. Animal agriculture is responsible for around 14.5% of global greenhouse gas emissions, with beef and lamb production being the largest contributors. In contrast, Quorn's mycoprotein-based products have a significantly lower environmental impact. According to the company's own estimates, Quorn's products generate around 90% fewer greenhouse gas emissions than traditional meat products. Furthermore, Quorn's production process requires significantly less land, water, and energy than traditional meat production.
