The movie begins with Sam, a brilliant programmer, who is struggling to cope with the disappearance of his father, Kevin Flynn. Sam's life takes a dramatic turn when he is transported into a virtual world called the Grid, which was created by his father. On the Grid, Sam meets Quorra (Olivia Wilde), a program who is searching for a way to escape the virtual world.
