Filmyzilla, an archetypal piracy website offering unauthorized downloads and streams of films, serves as the focal point for exploring how piracy mediates film culture. This paper asks: What cultural effects arise when a film like The Hills Have Eyes is circulated through pirate platforms? How do these effects interact with industry economics, fan practices, and interpretive communities?
