"Fatherland" is a novel by Robert Harris, published in 1992. The story is set in an alternate history where Nazi Germany won World War II, and the Allies were defeated. The book follows the journey of detective Bernhard "Bernie" Gunther, a former SS officer turned detective, as he investigates a murder that leads him to uncover a conspiracy at the highest levels of the Nazi government.
