The movie follows Dastan (Jake Gyllenhaal), a prince of Persia, who, along with his best friend and warrior Tamina (Gemma Arterton), steals the Dagger of Time. This dagger has the power to rewind time. However, things go awry when Dastan is betrayed and framed for the murder of his father, King Sharman. The prince then embarks on a journey to clear his name, protect the dagger from falling into the wrong hands, and prevent the sands of time from being unleashed on the world, which would turn everyone into sand.
