One evening, as Eli was downloading a particularly large file, the NeoDownloader software alerted him to an update. A newer version had been released, one that promised significant improvements over his current version. But, to his dismay, Eli found that the update didn't work. The crack he had used seemed to be version-specific, and updating had rendered it useless.
