Works often conjoin human, animal, and appliance — a stuffed jaguar’s limbs braided with synthetic hair, a mariachi jacket threaded into an LED-lit sculpture — producing figures that are at once familiar and uncanny. Those hybrids prompt questions about mutation and inheritance: which cultural traits are preserved, which are staged, and which are newly invented?
