The movie takes place a year after the events of the second film. Alex the lion, Marty the zebra, Gloria the hippo, and Melman the giraffe are now part of a traveling circus in Europe. The circus, owned by Vitaly, a tiger, and Sergei, a polar bear, is facing financial difficulties and needs to find a way to attract more audiences.
