The movie is a sequel to the 2008 film "Journey to the Center of the Earth". The story follows Hank Parsons (Dwayne Johnson), a NASA pilot who teams up with his stepson, Alex (Josh Hutcherson), to rescue the missing Dr. Henry Jekyll (Michael Caine) and his granddaughter, Penelope (Maggie Grace).
