For many, Grand Theft Auto IV is memory—not only of gameplay but of a specific time and machine, a particular PC setup or console, a network of friends and forums. The notion of running it on a PS2, or searching for a "PS2 ISO" at all, reads as a playful fantasy or an act of restoration: taking the textures and scripts of one era and attempting to squeeze them into the mold of another.
