The game takes place in a Norse mythology-inspired world, where Kratos and Atreus are on a quest to spread their wife/mother's ashes from the highest peak in the realms. However, their journey is soon disrupted by the impending doom of Ragnarök, a catastrophic event that will bring about the end of the world.
