The film explores themes of survival, loyalty, and redemption as Burnett navigates the treacherous landscape of Bosnia, evading capture by the enemy. With the help of a local Bosnian Serb, Burnett manages to stay one step ahead of his pursuers and eventually makes contact with a U.S. Navy SEAL team, led by Commander Joe "Hawk" Hawkins (Gene Hackman).
