Autocad Block Host File Updated May 2026In AutoCAD, a block host file is a file that contains the definitions of blocks used in a drawing. When you create a block in a drawing, it's stored in the block host file, which is usually the drawing file itself (.dwg). However, when you insert a block from an external file, the block definition is stored in a separate file called a block host file (.bhl).
