Annabelle is a horror film based on the true story of a doll named Annabelle Higgins, which was believed to be haunted. The film takes place in 1969, a year before the events of The Conjuring. The story follows a young couple, Pete (John E. Dowd) and Lucy Higgins (Annabelle Wallis), who are expecting a baby. As a gift, Pete gives Lucy a vintage porcelain doll named Annabelle. However, the doll soon becomes a vessel for a malevolent spirit, which begins to terrorize the couple.
